Northern Cardinal - Female

Description

The female northern cardinal is a pale brown bird with warm reddish tinges in the wings, tail, and crest, and has a distinctive black mask around her face. Unlike the bright red male, she has a more subdued coloration but shares similar features like a crest and a chunky red-orange bill. Northern Cardinals nest in dense tangles of shrubs and vines.
